Aloha Marina Ohana,

In talking with Marina Outrigger coaches about potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus, we’ve made the difficult decision to POSTPONE the beginning of the 2020 6-man racing season for two weeks.

We also will postpone our annual garage sale fundraiser, which was set for Saturday, March 21, until further notice.

The coaches will post schedules for one-man practices on the Forum, and we are encouraging everyone to workout on their individual watercraft, either with the other members, or on their own time.

Traditionally, our club members paddle on Saturday and Sunday around 7:30 am on their single crafts, and that will continue.

Although there has been no specific direction from SCORA or the county of LA about delaying the start of our racing season, and we are gathering in an open-air environment, we want to make absolutely sure we’ve done everything we can to keep our members, our coaches, and all our Ohana, safe and healthy.

When we do resume 6-man practices, we ask anyone who is sick to avoid returning to 6-man practices until they are healthy.

In the meantime, should anyone have any questions about the 2020 season or one man practice schedules, or should any of our members need support during this uncertain time, please email Board president Malia Zimmerman at MaliaMZimmerman@gmail.com or Head coach Lindsey Richman at lindseyrichman@gmail.com
